Working Title: Teen Steroid Use: Adults Are the Root of the
Problem
Introduction:
I am very interested in sports, having played and watched them since I
was a young child and with the recent talk of professional athletes
using steroids; I found this to be the perfect topic. More
teenagers are being hurt by steroids and it needs to stop. I know
a lot about sports but not as much about steroids so this will give me
the opportunity to explore. After looking at internet resources I
have found many sites to support an argument for this topic.
Summary:
The topic I intend to address is teen steroid use. Coaches are
very caught up in winning all the time that they do not stop to think
about what message they are really sending teenagers.
Professionals are also setting the wrong example by using steroids
themselves or by not saying that it is wrong to take them.
Teenagers need to understand that taking steroids is not a good idea
and who better to tell them than the people they look up to.
Preliminary Thesis:
Because of the American dream and the pressure to be successful,
coaches and professionals are influencing teenagers to use steroids,
which results in serious health problems or even death.
